Saving the Baghdad Zoo: A True Story of Hope and Heroes by Kelly Milner Halls & Major William Sumner
This is an incredible story of hope within tragedy. As a result of the Iraq War in 2003, the Baghdad Zoo was devastated. Animals were missing and many were in need of food and water. U.S. Army Captain William Sumner worked with a team to help these animals and to re-establish the Baghdad Zoo. Now open, the Baghdad Zoo has become an oasis of hope in a city of devastation. These animals have become a symbol of life and survival. This is a great book, and it has such a wonderful message for any reader.
Thanks so much for featuring our book, SAVING THE BAGHDAD ZOO. It was such an honor to help tell William Sumner's wonderful story. I'm glad you liked it and saw something special there, too.
